I know a nice and coloured hostel on 28 Ben Yehuda St called Momo's Hostel. A dorm bed costs 40NIS, a double room 100-130NIS and in summer you can go and sleep up on the roof (for only 35NIS). Their rule: men and women (even married couples) can't sleep in the same room.... they've got separate dorms. Phone number 528 7471
