You should start with the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.... this is what most people come to Jerusalem for. It's built over the place where Jesus was crucified. Thousands of Christians come here and kneel, whispering their prayers. The architecture of the chuch is interesting.... being a combination of different styles. You can visit it every day (but be properly dressed).
